Dr. Elaine Sullivan will be speaking on "The Temple of Amun-Ra at Karnak: 2000 Years of Rituals and Renovations." Dr. Sullivan is currently project coordinator for the Project for the Implementation of an Undergraduate Humanities Curriculum in Digital Cultural Mapping at UCLA. She has excavated at the Greco-Roman site of Karanis in the Egyptian Fayoum for the past two seasons as part of the UCLA project at the site. The lecture will be held at 5 PM on Thursday, December 2 on the UCSC campus in Humanities 1, 210. Refreshments will be served before the lecture, at 4:30.
Dr. Sullivan's lecture is part of an ongoing series on "Archaeology and the Ancient World" sponsored by the UCSC Society of the Archaeological Institute of America and the President's Chair in Ancient Studies. The general public is particularly invited to attend. Free parking is available for lecture attendees in the Stevenson parking lot.
